OUR JOURNEY
Dert’s Journey starts with our founder Christopher Pereira.
As a self-taught engineer, with over 40 years of experience in product design from radio communication devices, Sound and Theater lighting equipment and fire alarm systems, seeing opportunity in a resource we call waste was a challenge that could not be ignored.
“I started my journey in Mumbai, while still in school, around 2006 I got involved with the community around and realised there was an urgent need for @source solutions in waste management. We went on to install waste management solutions at multiple locations across Mumbai the list is very long. With many reputed locations having our solution including Schools, residential Buildings and gated communities like Parsi Punchayat at Malabar Hill, and eventually the Governor’s House in Mumbai. By 2007/8 we had 30 to 40 composting installations in and around Mumbai. By 2010/12 we had close to 400 composting installations and a few shredders installations throughout Mumbai. By 2018 we had covered several local churches, residential buildings, schools and more.”
